On the weekend of November 6th to 8th the The Dark Eye larp convention “Festenländer Geschichten 2 – das Dorf im Wald” (“Festenländers’ stories 2 – The village in the woods”) took place in the beautiful Eifel. The used locations for the convention were the hut village Manderscheid and the nearby forst.
Last weekend could have been one of the last sunny and warm this year. Thus, we have been very lucky, because at castle Baum in Lower Saxony the The Dark Eye-LARP “Spur des Blutes 3 – Saat und Ernte” (trail of blood 3 – sowing and reaping) was held. Here are my impressions of the beautiful location and the exciting game. Thank you so much for an exciting and wonderful weekend, Spur des Blutes-gamemasters!
My Facebook followers will have certainly witnessed my hatching madness. This is not only due to the forthcoming german RPG “Eis & Dampf”, but to something else, too. Something very demonic from the US. We’re talking about the new edition of FASA Games’ Demonworld. For the recently published core book I drew some illustrations, which of course I do not want to hide from you.
But not enough of hatching. On the german RPG Convention FeenCon a “Vampire: the Masquerade” Larp was held to celebrate the successful crowdfunding of the German V20 edition. Not only was I present as medially gifted hippie Malkavian, I also contributed the coat of arms for our host the Custodes Sanguinis.
In May, the German edition of the Player’s Guide of Earthdawn was published by Ulisses Spiele. Besides a new cover art, the book was embellished with new art work by German illustrators.
Enough with the black and white. Now it’s time for gold and color with these two cover motifs.
One year ago Ulisses Spiele had something special for the Games Fair. You could watch how Daniel Richter and I were developing an The Dark Eye adventure live at the Ulisses Spiele booth. While Daniel was writing the text for “Der Fluch der Drachengrafen” (“The curse of the Dragon Earls”) according to your suggestions, I was drawing the illustrations on the spot.
This year there will be an Adventure Workshop again at the Ulisses Spiele booth and we’ll get additional support by Eevie Demirtel. It’s still a secret what the new adventure will be about. I’ll tell you as much: it will get hairy!
I have a little surprise for the button-lovers among you: at the Games Fair I will sell the symbols of demigods and gods who are not belonging to the Twelve God’s pantheon for the first time. So far Swafnir, Angrosch, Nandus, Aves, Ifirn and Ssad’huar (Satuaria) are finished.
Which symbols would you like to see as buttons at the Games Fair?
Fresh off the press the new Aventurischer Bote #167 was in my mailbox this week already.
The portrait of lovely Circaya Galahan ya Badrese and the design for the Brabakian settlement Porto Sancta Elida (which is totally not exaggerated) were drawn by me.
A small note for the participants of the larp Spur des Blutes 2: take a look at the small ad on page 6 of the ingame news 😉
In the near future a news report about the events of the convention will follow.
